So here is the straight dope on CS5 master Collection.
The ESD's are the final master collection, but they contain the apps only. They are also compressed (the DVD's are not, just mount and install). This is why are are the smaller 4-5gigs size.
The retail box is actually 4 DVDs. DVD1 and DVD2 (which are the DVD listed at the beginning of this thread) contain everything the master collection ESD's do, except they also include bonus ******* like third party codecs, Color Finesse 3, etc. DVD3 is Support software. Support software is 32-bit versions of Premiere CS4 and After Effects CS4. Its included because CS5 only includes 64-bit versions of those applications. DVD4 is Acrobat Pro 9.3.
So even the retail box does not include Acrobat on the main DVDs, it gets its own seperate DVD which is just a rebranded Acrobat 9 Pro DVD. Honestly, just search this forum for Acrobat 9 Pro and install that. The only difference between the Acrobat 9 included with CS5 Mast and standalone Acrobat 9 is that the CS5 is prepatched to 9.3. Acrobat Pro 9.3 is a free patch, just run the included updater. In fact, if you install Acrobat 9 after CS5, when the ****** entry ******s comes up, it will have already be pre-entered with whatever CS5 ****** you used, just click ok to use it. (This does NOT apply if you install Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. In this case, just use the CORE CS5 ****** as it has an option for Acro 9 Pro Extended)

I have personally tested the DVDs and confirm they offer the full retail RTM creative Suite 5.
QUESTION: What is ESD vs RETAIL?
ANSWER: ESD = Electronic Software Distribution -- Team CORE released the CS5 MC ESD version along w/ their ******/patch and we are glad about it. so what is it really? IT IS THE TRIAL VERSION WHICH YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ON adobe SITE it's NOT COMPLETE, one thing im sure not included is the Color Finesse (included in RETAIL).
RETAIL on the other hand is the TWO (2) of FOUR (4) DVDs when you bought it and shipped at your door, it was ripped in ISO hence the uploaded above.
RETAIL DVDs:
DVD1 - CS5 master collection Installer (1/2)
DVD2 - CS5 master collection Installer (2/2)
DVD3 - Support DVD (not really important imho)
DVD4 - Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 ( you can just download it on adobe Site)
so ESD = Trial Download
RETAIL = The FULL version or Purchased DVD
NOTE ALSO:
The trial versions of After Effects CS5, adobe Premiere Pro CS5, and Soundbooth CS5 do not include some features that depend on software licensed from parties other than Adobe. For example, some codecs for encoding MPEG formats are available only with the full version of this product.

OTHERS QUESTIONS - ANSWERS
Q: Anyone know why master Suite CS5 given few days ago weight about 12GB (3 seperatre ISO files) ? Unfortunately it was PRE-RELEASE but this looks like FINAL and its size is ~4GB .
A: because the pre-release is multilingual. this one contains ENGLISH and other common languages only.

A: it's a retail ESD. contains ****** + patch by Team CORE. i already tested it and it's working.

A: the trial version is not beta, it's the FINAL version.
Q: adobe Acrobat 9 Pro** is not included on the install so where is it?
A: adobe Acrobat 9 pro is not included in the trial.
